New employee at Neumarkt Galerie

In November, the humanoid robot "Pepper" introduced himself as a new employee at the Neumarkt Galerie in Cologne. This was made possible by the cooperation with the company Entrance Robotics GmbH. Pepper is used to control the observance of the mask obligation and the minimum distances of the visitors. Pepper speaks, sings and dances, with his gestures and facial expressions he reacts in a very human way and quickly becomes a popular figure. In addition, the escalator handrails were equipped with UVC modules to kill germs, viruses and bacteria and provide visitors with a safe shopping experience.

Apleona Managing 20 Properties for Deutsche Rück and VöV Rück

Deutsche Rückversicherung and VöV Rückversicherung have commissioned Apleona Real Estate Management with the property management of 20 existing commercial and mixed-use properties throughout Germany.

These comprise a total of 45,000 m² of office space, 35,000 m² of commercial space, and 13,000 m² of residential rental space. A large portion of the properties managed, also including roughly 140 residential units, are in North Rhine-Westphalia. The contract was signed as of January 1, 2023 for three years with the option of renewal.

In addition to traditional commercial property management, tenant support in the properties, and re-letting and new letting, there is a key focus on providing technical support for the properties. The high quality and value of the properties is to be preserved by means of stringent planning, management, and monitoring of regular servicing and expert inspections as well as the performance of continuous maintenance measures. To this end, Apleona Real Estate Management also uses digital solutions with its technical property managers. For example, the Apleona AquA app tracks servicing, safety inspections, and warranty periods for all technical equipment in the buildings in digital and mobile form on site, efficiently and with maximum transparency for the customer.

In the ongoing startup phase, the gradual implementation of ESG and energy-saving measures in the portfolio under management is currently being examined together with the customer.

At the signing of the contract, Julia Steinmetz, Managing Director of Apleona Real Estate Management, commented: “For us as a service partner, the high demands of two companies from the reinsurance sector with regard to the quality and value retention of their investment properties is a task where we will proactively apply not only our longstanding commercial and technical expertise, but also our new digital and ESG know-how.”
